At the end of each year, a yearly calculation is made for all accommodations where we manage utility services. This statement provides an overview of the actual consumption of utilities such as electricity, gas, and water and compares it to the advance payments made over the year.
To ensure accurate billing, we request meter readings from tenants at the end of the year. If tenants do not provide their readings, we are required to estimate their consumption based on historical data or average usage. The final yearly calculation is then issued at the end of the year or the beginning of the following year.
If the actual consumption exceeds the total amount paid in advance, the outstanding balance will be added to the next rent invoice. If the tenant has overpaid, the excess amount will either be refunded or deducted from future payments.
This ensures that tenants only pay for what they’ve actually used, avoiding over- or underpayment.
